Sizing, getting the BTU right
An air conditioner is rated by its cooling output in BTU (or kW). Under-spec it and the unit will run continuously and never reach temperature on hot days.
Over-spec it and it cools too quickly, short-cycles, and wears out the compressor while also failing to dehumidify properly. Correct sizing considers room volume, window size and orientation, insulation, occupancy, and any heat-generating equipment (computers, kitchens).
5kW), a 25m² lounge around 18,000 BTU (5kW). We calculate properly during the survey, no guessing.
